carrot halwa


Ingredients:
Carrots                                 -              2-3 medium sized (grated)
Sugar                                     -              50-65 grams
Ghee                                     -              2-3 tablespoons
Caradamom / Elaichi       -              1-2 teaspoons (finely powdered)
Almonds / Badam            -              for garnishing

Preparation Method:
Fry the grated carrot in ghee for some time, till the carrot gets soft(boiled). Add sugar to this and keep stirring on a low flame. Initially, the sugar dissolves and forms a liquid but when you keep stirring, the sugar caramel formed makes the mixture sticky. When you get here, add the caradamom / elaichi powder and put off the flame.
Serve it hot or cool, it is good both ways.
You can also prepare a halwa in a similar manner using beetroot and bottle guard.
