Ingredients:
Milk - 500 ml
Curd - 1 tablespoon
Rice (cooked) - 3 cups
Red chillies - 3
Green chillies - 3 (chopped)
Black pepper corns - 12
Kaju (optional) -
( fried in ghee )
Ginger(peeled and finely chopped) - about 1
table spoon
Curry Leaves - 2-3 twigs of leaves
Turmeric powder (optional) - 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds / Jeera - 2 teaspoons
Black gram / Urud Daal - 1 teaspoon
Ghee - 2-3 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Method of Preparation :
Heat the milk and let them come down to room temperature.
Now, just mix the curd in this milk and pour it over the cooked rice. Close the
lid of the container and leave it over night or until the milk coagulates and
forms curd. Once it is done, you can add salt and turmeric powder to this curd
rice and mix it properly.
Now, take a tawa, heat the ghee, add ginger, curry leaves, red
chillies, green chillies, black pepper corns, cumin seeds / jeera and black
gram / urud daal. Fry them for a minute or two (or till done).
Add this to our curd rice mixture and the tasty tasty
daddojanam is ready J.
